At Chapelhouse Studios, creativity knows no bounds, and our 2024 Spring Break Camp was no exception.

In just five short days, our studio became a bustling hub of imagination and talent as we embarked on the most incredible journey of putting together the production of Finding Nemo Kids!

With a cast of 14 incredibly talented performers, ranging in age from 5 to 16, we witnessed the magic of collaboration, dedication, and the sheer joy of theatrical expression. Some of our performers have graced the stage multiple times before, while for others, this production marked their very first step into the world of theater. Regardless of experience, each and every student brought their unique energy and enthusiasm to the table, creating a vibrant array of characters and stories.

We continued the beloved studio tradition of taking character-inspired headshots during the week. Each student was encouraged to step into the shoes (or fins!) of their character and capture a headshot that embodied their essence. The results were nothing short of adorable, humorous, and entertaining! From the enthusiastic grin of Nemo to the bubbly enthusiasm of Dory, every headshot was a look into the dedication, imagination, and fun that was happening. Through this exercise, not only did the students gain a deeper understanding of their characters, but they also embraced the opportunity to express themselves in a way that differs from traditional performance norms.

But the magic of our production extended far beyond the stage. Behind the scenes, our incredibly dedicated parent volunteers worked throughout the week to craft every prop and set piece, infusing the production with love and attention to detail. It was a true labor of love, with every glue stick and paintbrush stroke contributing to the immersive world these kids were building.

One of the most remarkable moments came from within our cast. Inspired by the colorful underwater world of Finding Nemo, one of our students hand tie-dye t-shirts in colors and patterns that perfectly matched each character in the show. It was a testament to the creativity and ingenuity that flourishes within our studio walls.

As the curtain rose on our production of Finding Nemo Kids, we couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude. Not only were we amazed by the talent and dedication of our young performers, but we were also humbled by the outpouring of support from our community. It was a testament to the power of creativity, teamwork, and faith – a reminder that when we come together with open hearts and minds, anything is possible!

In the end, our production wasn't just about putting on a show – it was about creating memories, forging friendships, and inspiring each other to reach for the stars.

Throughout the whirlwind week of singing, dancing, and acting, there was a palpable sense of joy and fellowship in the air. It was something greater than ourselves. The Lord was guiding the process, infusing every moment with a sense of purpose and honor. We believe that "where beautiful things happen" isn't just a phrase – it's a living, breathing reality that we are so blessed to witness every day.

And as we bid farewell to our underwater adventure and look ahead to future productions, we carry with us the lessons learned, life-long friendships formed, laughs shared, and songs sung during this unforgettable week! We love you, Nemo Fam! ✨ 🐠 🧡 🤙
